Campus Support for Terror: F

  • UPenn campus was the site of dozens of demonstrations after October 7, where protesters called for “global Intifada” (violence against Jews) and clamored for Palestine “from the river to the sea” (the destruction of Jews in Israel). Over 1,200 people in Israel were raped, tortured, killed and taken hostage by Hamas terrorists – among them at least 40 Americans.
  • One UPenn student, Tara Tarawneh, condoned the horrifying terrorist attack in a speech: “I remember feelings so empowered and happy, so confident that victory was near and so tangible,” she told a crowd about the monstrous Oct. 7 attack. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus featured chants calling for “intifada,” meaning violence against Jews. These hateful calls were sprayed as graffiti across campus, alongside “Avenge Gaza.” Another graffiti, in front of a Jewish fraternity house, said “The Jews R Nazis”. In November, anti-Israel groups projected antisemitic messages onto several University of Pennsylvania campus buildings, causing outrage and fear.
  • The intimidation did not stop there. Pro-Hamas activists sent threatening antisemitic emails to university staff, leading to police and FBI investigations.
  • Penn President Liz Magill was summoned to Congress to discuss the surge of hate on her campus. Unbelievably, Magill told representatives that calls for the genocide of Jews do not necessarily violate Penn’s code of conduct. “If the speech turns into conduct, it can be harassment,” Magill. The disgraced president had to resign after this embarrassing and inhumane response.
  • Jewish students at Penn have filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Ivy League institution, alleging it “has transformed itself into incubation lab for virulent anti-Jewish hatred, harassment, and discrimination”.
